Velocity Sensitive Wood-Core Keyboards

Rodgers Instruments and Fatar (Italy), the world largest keyboard manufacturer, have concluded a joint research and development project with the announcement of new velocity-sensitive, wood-core keyboards for Rodgers Digital Organs and pipe/digital organs made in Hillsboro.

The new RK30W design offers pipe organ quality, true wood keyboards that are velocity sensitive for all 128 levels of touch variation. Nearly indestructible, sealed polymer key switch pairs for each key provide the velocity sensitivity necessary for realistic performances using MIDI sound module generated orchestral voices. The Rodgers keyboards have been designed to provide the proper mass and tactile responsiveness sought by discriminating organ players. A special matte surface finish adds to their attractiveness and feel. No periodic adjustment, service or maintenance is required on the new keyboards.

thumb_rk30w_keysWith long-term, trouble-free reliability a design goal, Rodgers' keys are attached to an interior metal arm for maximum key stability. These arms fit into a uniquely designed metal frame assembly that prevents the possibility of keyboard warping. The new design meets all American Guild of Organists (AGO) standards in both key dimensions and key travel. Tracker touch, replicating the keyboard touch of historic mechanical action organ keyboards, is optional.
